Sunday, September 5th - Connect Sunday

On September 5th we will meet for one service at 10:00 a.m., connecting first service with second service.  It will be preceded by a time of fellowship from 9:00 a.m.  to 9:45 a.m.  Children will go directly to their own time of worship at 10:00 a.m.  There will be no Bible classes. Come get connected!

"Raising Your Level Of Love"

(1 Thessalonians 4:9-12)

The Bible reveals to us that God is love.  Because His Spirit abides in us He pours His love into our hearts to prompt us to love those around us; especially our Christian family.  God’s love in us moves us to bless when our flesh wants to curse; to forgive when the flesh wants to retaliate; to go the second mile when the flesh doesn’t want to take another step.

Join us this Sunday as we look to God’s Word to help us discover ways to raise our love for others to a higher level.

 

For those mourning the loss of a loved one, Southwest offers a thirteen week course to help you with your journey from mourning to joy.  Our next session begins Sunday, September 12th at 5:30 p.m.  Call the office (503-620-0221) to register.

 

Southwest Men's Retreat

September 17-19, 2010

Once again our annual Men's Retreat will be held at the Tilikum Center for Retreats just outside Newberg.  This year's theme is Easter in September, employing the series, The Easter Experience.  What if what happened then changes everything now?  Come ready to interact on personal and small group levels as we pursue genuine purpose for ourselves and consider applications for Southwest ministries.

All Southwest men are encouraged to attend.
