Our Sign

Our building is located on a main thoroughfare in our community.  We put up a lighted sign many years ago to post events to let the community know what is happening at our congregation and sayings to encourage them as they drive by.  At least a couple of times a month someone stops by to tell us that our sign just really touched them or has helped them through some really trying times.  God can use anything to reach out to those who need Him.

Here is what is on each side of our sign this week:

By the work one knows the workman.

One joy scatters a hundred griefs.

Easter Sunday

We invite you to be part of our great Easter service, April 20, 2014.  Be part of the worship on that day as Barry Galindo speaks about hope. The title is: "Discover Hope this Easter."

Weekly Challenge from Barry

Go Deeper”

April 23, 2014

Easter is a powerful reminder that Jesus is the Savior of the world because He was victorious over death and is alive for evermore!  I love that at least on this day, all over the globe people celebrate the single greatest even in the history of mankind, the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

But what does the resurrection mean to you and me?  In a nutshell, it means hope!  The hope that through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, everything that needed to be done to make us right with God had has been done.  When we surrender our lives to Jesus Christ our sins are washed away and we are brought into a perfect relationship with our heavenly Father.   We believe that because Jesus has dealt with our past, we have a future that is glorious and secure.  We also have the hope that Jesus is coming again and that He will make all things right and put an end to all suffering, all evil and violence, all sickness, all tears and death.  And in an instant we will be reunited with our loved ones who died in Christ.

The challenge for this week is to continue to live in the “Easter” moment of hope, no matter what your current circumstances seem to be.  Allow yourself to trust God completely and allow the One who died and was raised for you to provide you forgiveness for yesterday, peace for today and hope for tomorrow.

Sunday Evening
