Southwest Youth Group

7th – 12th grades can be hard times in life. Teens are figuring out their identity and the person they want to become. In the Southwest Youth Group, we teach biblical truths and help teens implement these truths into their lives. We walk along with teens to help them foster a closer relationship with the living God. We strive to help these teens find their identity in God rather than what is in the world.

Along with teaching, we provide many activities to promote community among teens and adults. These activities serve as an example of how we are to live out our purpose for God on earth. Many of these activities are focused on learning about God, building relationships, evangelism, and serving others.

We have a vision in the Youth Group for each teen to be connected to at least five adults, outside their family, by the time they leave High School.

Youth Group

Youth Group is open to 7th -12th graders. We meet most Wednesday nights at 7:00pm in Fellowship Hall. This is a time of activities, praise, and study.

Mission Trips

Summer

Each summer we go on a week long mission trip to Caldwell, Id. During this trip, we paint houses, build sheds, do yard work, and any other project a homeowner may need. This Mission is focused on helping build connections with the community and the Caldwell Church of Christ.

This is open to 9th - 12th graders.

Spring Break

Every other year, the Juniors and Seniors are invited to go on a week long mission trip to a foreign country. This trip is intended to give the teens a broader prospective into the world and provide them with the courage to live out Matthew 28.

Camps and retreats

Winter Retreat

After the Holidays and at the New Year, we tend to want to start resolutions that are going to make us a better person. At Southwest, we offer a winter retreat in Mid- January for 7th -12th graders to help build healthy habits and a stronger connection to God in the New Year.

Camp Yamhill

Each summer Camp Yamhill offers camps for youth grades 1st - 12th. Camp is a great way to get connected to other students and grow your faith in God. Most days are filled with climbing trees, riding zip lines, singing silly songs, worship, and classes. At southwest, we offer scholarships for any teen that wants to go to camp. contact Sam Mears for more information on scholarships.
